Born in Missouri to Harold Lee and Almedia "Pete" Newman, Charlie currently lives in "the hills of Arkansas" with his wonderful patient wife of 47 years, Diana. He also has two children, Shelia Wilkerson and her husband Wesley, a son, Charles Eric Newman, seven grandchildren Knikki "KnikkiNet", Triston "T-Rex", Anthony "Antwone" and Starlia "Starry" Newman, Victoria "Tori", Alexander "Axe" and Samuel "Sammy D" Wilkerson, beehives (the kid's plan is one for each grandchild), cats, stray armadillos and enough other varmints and wildlife to start a refuge.
Charlie has been writing and playing music for almost as long as he can remember. He's the one on the left playing slide guitar with a butter knife in the picture below. His younger brother Davey is playing harmonica.
His Mother (taking picture) and Father (standing) both played guitar so Charlie developed an interest and learned how to play at a young age. Some of the music he has written can be found elsewhere on this website.
Charlie has been an ordained minister since 1980 and is currently pastor of The Avoca Christian Church located at 209 Main Street in Avoca Arkansas and extends and invitation to all to come worship anytime you're in the area. Contact information for Pastor Charlie can be found elsewhere on this website.
